Septic System Education Session this weekend.

Septic SystemCitizens League for Environmental and Economic Responsibilty (CLEER) is holding an educational session about the sewage system in Douglas County this Saturday. Jim vonMeier, an environmental educator, will hold two sessions this weekend in Miltona and Alexandria to inform property owners of the different septic system options.

vonMeier says onsite septic systems are better for the environment than sewage treatment facilities.  According to vonMeier, onsite systems are less expensive for property owners, they prevent over-development that comes with building sewage treatment facilities and they help save water.

The first session is at Miltona Community Center at 10 p.m.  There is a second session in Alexandria at the LaGrand Townhall.
