Douglas County Fair

4-H events will take place all week at the Douglas County Fair.The Douglas County Fair, the 10th largest fair in Minnesota, begins today through Sunday.

 

Taking place at the Douglas County Fairgrounds in Alexandria, gates open for general admission  today, Aug. 20 starting at 8 a.m. 4-H events begin Monday, Aug. 17 for pet judging.

 

Many events take place throughout the weekend including the Sheriff’s K-9 Demonstration, Fair Animal Adventures, Runestone Rockettes and a special appearance by Tina and Lena on tonight night.

 

Tonight and Friday night will host the Demolition Derby. Sunday is the last day of the fair and is wristband day where the purchase of one guarantees all-access to the rides.

 

Admission is $4 for adults and free for children 12 and under.

 

According to the Douglas County Fair Web site, the fair has been around since 1888 and is hosted by the Douglas County Agriculture Association.
