Suspicious Man at County Fair

The Bird Island Police Department is asking for the publics help for anyone who has information of a suspicious person seen at the Renville County Fair.

On Aug. 21 a man was seen following some children around the fairgrounds. In a separate instance he attempted to grab a child from behind a stage. The incidents were reported to have happened during the early evening hours of that day.

According to a Press Release, the reports came in a little after 10 p.m. where a search for the suspect was initiated in both the fairgrounds and surrounding Blue Island area. Fairgrounds staff were notified as well as four different police departments.

The suspect, described as a tall white male, possibly in his late 20s or 30s, with brown hair pulled back in a ponytail, wearing jeans, a t-shirt, black boots and a black trench coat, was not located.

A report came in suggesting that the person had been seen leaving the fairgrounds earlier.
