Police: Man Tried to Grab Child at Renville Co. Fair

Police in Bird Island are investigating reports of a suspicious man following children around the Renville County Fair on Aug. 21.

According to officials, the man allegedly followed several children around and even attempted to grab one child from behind a stage.

Police initiated a search for the suspect around the fairgrounds and the town of Bird Island. However, authorities believe the man was able to escape from the fairgrounds earlier in the evening.

The suspect is described as a tall white male, possibly in his late 20s or 30s, with brown hair pulled back in a ponytail. He was wearing jeans, a t-shirt, black boots, and a black trench coat at the time of the incident.
