Traffic Coordinator
Despite the name, TV Traffic has very little to do with rush hour or commute times. It’s actually the mysterious void between what a client orders and what viewers see, where numbers on a page become thirty seconds of light and sound. It is the responsibility of TV Traffic to ensure that the client’s spot airs at the right time, and the right client is billed for what actually aired.
Kristi Neller has been with KSAX/KRWF since 1992 and learned Traffic from the bottom up. All aspects of a TV station’s operation impact Traffic, from News to Engineering to Production, and Traffic can impact everyone else, either positively or negatively. In addition to creating daily commercial schedules (logs), reconciling previous logs and completing the daily paperwork necessary to get spots on the air, Kristi also oversees the mandated children’s programming requirements and reports, as well as national public service announcements.
When she is not glued to her computer terminal at work, Kristi enjoys spending time with her family, taking care of her Angora goats and cats, and exploring the fascinating worlds of handspinning, naalbinding and weaving.
