United Way Food Drop

The second United Way food drop is currently taking place at the United Methodist Church; it will end at 6 p.m.

With close to 100 volunteers and over 40 agencies providing information on services available during these hard times, the United Way plans to do approximately nine more of these.

The event started at 11 a.m. with hundreds of vegetable bags available for the public to take as well as other foods. Backpacks were given to children and a lunch was provided by the Salvation Army to all attendees. People came with baskets to fill up on all the free food and information.

Employment, housing, and medical program information were just a few of the services provided to serve as a guidance to people during these hard times.

The next United Way food drop will take place Sept. 30.
