Man Killed in Auto Accident in Western Wis.

A 47-year-old western Wisconsin man is dead after he crashed his vehicle into a ditch and onto a set of railroad tracks.

Police say they were notified about the incident around 1:18 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 35 near Maiden Rock, Wis.

Steven Glaus, of Pepin, Wis., was traveling northbound on the highway when he veered off the road and onto the BNSF Railway tracks, according to police.

Glaus was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident remains under investigation by the Pierce County Sheriff's Department.

Maiden Rock is across the river from Red Wing and approximately 60 miles southeast of the Twin Cities.
