Updated at: 09/22/2009 1:30 PM | KSAX.com Propane Fire Destroys Wooden Structure West of VerndaleVERNDALE, MN - On Monday, the Wadena County Sheriff's Office received a report of a propane fire at the Burkel turkey farm on Hwy 10 west of Verndale. The call was reported around 11:36 pm and Sheriff's Deputies along with the Verndale Fire Department and Verndale Police Department responded to the scene. Upon arrival to the scene they saw a small wooden structure on fire next to a large propane holding tank. The structure had propane pipes and equipment inside of it. Authorities noticed the propane pipes and equipment were venting and putting out large flames. The propane valves were able to be shut off and the fire was put out. No animals were hurt in the fire and no other structures were damaged.
