At 9:45 p.m. Tuesday night, the Morrison County Sheriff's Office received two reports from Little Falls residents who said their homes had been shot. Deputies said that one of the callers actually got in a car and followed the shooters', while talking to law enforcement on a cell phone. With the information provided by the caller, Morrison County Deputies, Little Falls Police Officers, Royalton Police and Minnesota State Patrol found the suspects' car on Highway 10 at the intersection of Iris Road. Deputies executed a high-risk felony stop and apprehended a 16-year-old Little Falls boy, and a 17-year-old Little Falls boy. Deputies found a sawed-off .22 rifle and spent casings in the boys' car. Morrison County Sheriff Michel Wetzel confirmed that two homes had been hit by the gunfire, and that there was not a clear motive for the shooting. Wetzel said that it was fortunate that no one was killed or injured because of the reckless act. Both teens were arrested and taken to Morrison County Sheriff's Office. There were later driven to Lino Lakes Juvenile Detention Center, pending preparation of formal complaints by the Morrison County Attorney's Office. Written for the web by Cristi Jessee.
