“Coming downstairs in the morning and seeing brooms standing straight up in your kitchen is pretty strange,” South Haven resident Shelly Johnston said. “I wake up and come down and say, ‘Hi brooms. Just don’t start following me.”
“This is the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen,” “They have been standing for going on 48 hours now,” What’s even more mind boggling is when they move the brooms, they still stand. “It doesn’t seem to matter where you put them…outside, inside, wood floor, aluminum, tile. It doesn’t seem to affect their standing,” she said. Both neighbors aren’t sure what’s going on here, be it physics, gravity, or something of the supernatural. “It’s gotta be some force somewheres,” Olson said. “Sunday night I even looked up into the sky to see if something was going to land.” “Maybe we’re just charmed,” Despite this, they say they aren’t worried. “When the witches arrive, then we’ll have something to worry about,” Johnston said. While the two wait, wondering when and if their brooms will ever fall, they’re having fun with what they call a freakish phenomenon. “I just think it’s great fun right now and... Happy Halloween to everyone out there,” she said. Written for the web by Megan Brown
