Updated at: 10/23/2009 4:21 PM | KSAX.com Wadena-Deer Central Hosts Central Lakes Area High School.Wadena, MN- As the temperature dropped the field heated up as the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines hosted the West Central Area Knights on 10-21-09. Coming into the contest West Central Area was looking to end their season strong with a record of 4-3 while the Wolverines were playing for redemption as they came into the game on a 24 game losing streak and a record of 0-7 on the year. After a scoreless first quarter the knights would be the first to strike with a run up the middle by Cody Blair who would break through the line and take it 41 yards untouched for the touchdown. After a failed two-point conversion attempt West Central Area led 6-0. The Wolverines wouldn't take long to retaliate as they marched down the field on the next drive and put six on the board with a short run from Aaron Kern. After another failed two-point conversion the game was tied at six. The Wolverines would score one more time to win 12-6 over West Central Area. Written for the web by: Tony Seeman. |
