Described as an avid sportsman, one who loved to fish and loved to fly, former co-worker and long-time friend Jerry Sather said Randy was a great guy in every way, a great pilot, and a great American. "He liked to serve his country. He felt he was really doing a good service when he was in the Marine Corps and helping the country. He was a good all-around American person," Sather said.
