The GOP candidate called herself a "pro-liberty conservative" and drew strong contrasts between herself and the rest of the Republican candidates. "Most of them are career legislators and have no outside experience," said Anderson. Anderson cites her experience as State Auditor and as a business woman in the private sector as her qualifications to lead the state. "I've run an office at the state level before, so I know the inner-workings of government," said Anderson. Despite coming in third at a GOP straw poll in October, Anderson likes her chances. "If you look at it historically, the person who wins in the fall doesn't win in April, so I still think were in a great position" said Anderson.
