Rice addressed a sold out crowd at Beth El Synagogue in St. Louis Park, followed by a question and answer session. Rice is currently the Thomas and Barbara Stephenson Senior Fellow on Public Policy at the Hoover Institution and professor of political science at Stanford University. She served as the 66th Secretary of State of the United States under President George W. Bush. Prior to her appointment as America’s chief diplomat, she served as assistant to President Bush for national security affairs. The address is part of a National Speakers series at the synagogue. Dozens of protestors gathered outside the synagogue before her address upset over her alleged role in authorizing waterboarding and other interrogation techniques during her term as Secretary of State. |
