Hunting Accident Sends Melrose Boy to the Hospital

Stearns County, Minn - A 14-year-old Melrose boy is out of the hospital after he was shot in the leg while hunting over the weekend, according to authorities.

The boy was shot around noon while hunting with his Father and 12 other men, according to the Stearns County Sheriff's Office and the Associated Press.

Deputies say the group flushed out a deer and four men fired at it; one of the slug hit the boy in the left thigh.

The group was hunting in Spring Hill in Central Minnesota, about 40 miles west of St. Cloud.
