And the Eden Valley-Watkins Eagles are clearly doing a lot of things right because they have yet to be tested at all this season as they steam rolled the opposition for an 11-0 record. "We returned nine guys on offense so we expected to be pretty good on O" said head coach Ray Tri. "They've been doing the job, were making some big plays. Our offensive line is really blocking well, we kind of expected that. I think our defense has come around sooner than we thought and keep getting better as the season goes on." After beating Yellow Medicine East 36-7 to win the section in convincing fashion, the Eagles got right back to work as they prepare to take on Central Minnesota Conference rival the Pierz Pioneers. The Pioneers have put together a strong season as well going 10-1 with their only loss coming at the hands of the Eagles. "That was two months ago" senior Ryan Tri says "you can't think anything about that game. They played eight games we played eight games, and they definitely got better. They're definitely a better football team, they're going to try and run it at us. They have always been a good running team, and I expect them to come out running the football. They are gonna come out and play their game and were going to play ours. It should be a fun one, its gonna be close." The Eagles take on the Pioneers on Nov. 13 at Husky Stadium on the campus of Saint Cloud State University. Written for the web by: Tony Seeman
