Angela Christianson has been starting for the Alexandria girls varsity basketball team since she was a freshman, and beginning her senior year she already has an impressive resume. Overall she has racked up 1616 points demolishing the school's previous all time record. She also put up a 54 point game as a sophomore which was four points shy of the Minnesota state record for a single game. "Angela is a very very complete offensive player" Cardinal head coach Wendy Kohler said. "There isn't a thing she can't do if she sets her mind to it on the court. She can shoot the three, she can take it off the dribble with either hand and hit the mid range jump shot, she can get all the way to the rack and finish with either hand. Her foot work in the post is very solid, she can create shots by pivoting, very good percentage from the free throw line, she can post up, very good rebounder, she's just a very complete offensive player." With all of these accolades some of the top colleges in the country have been chomping at the bit for a chance to get Christianson and recently she made her choice. "I plan to go to Drake University, I chose there because I love the school. The coaches are great there and they have really good academics. They have an awesome women's basketball program there and they really recruited me hard" Christianson said. With the basketball season just now getting underway coach Kohler says the sky is the limit for Christianson as the Cardinals start up their 09-10 season. Written for the web by: Tony Seeman
