Duck Hunter's Body Recovered from Rat Lake, Victim Identified

DETROIT LAKES, MINN. - Authorities have identified the duck hunter who was recovered from a lake in northwestern Minnesota.

The Becker County Sheriff's Office is identifying the hunter as Charles Vernon Wright, 62, of Minneapolis.

Wright's body was found underneath an overturned duck boat in Rat Lake on Tuesday afternoon, according to authorities.

Divers recovered the body in water less than 10 feet deep.

Wright had come to the area for duck hunting; a family member says Wright had been in Becker County since Nov. 6.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine whether the man drowned or died of a medical condition.
