The Stearns County Sheriff's Office were enroute to a report of an assault at an Eden Valley home when authorities received a 911 call that a man had been stabbed in the same residence. When deputies arrived they found 24-year-old Shawn Murphy laying outside the residence with a stab wound to the left side of his chest. Authorities were told Murphy had been physically assaulting, 21-year-old Sara Smith of Eden Valley. At one point during the altercation Smith stabbed Murphy with a knife. Murphy was transported to the Paynesville Hospital by ambulance where he was treated and released. Murphy was arrested for Domestic Assault and is being held in the Stearns County Jail. Authorities also arrested Smith at the scene. Smith is being held in the Stearns County Jail on charges of 2nd Degree Assault.
