Victim of Weather-Related Minn. Crash Identified

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Authorities have released the name of a Royalton man who was one of at least three weather-related traffic deaths in Minnesota.

The Stearns County sheriff's office says 56-year-old Frederick Doble's minivan had collided with a car on County Road 17 Wednesday afternoon. Doble had gotten out of his vehicle to inspect the damage when he was struck by a passing van that slid into him. He died at the scene.

KSAX-TV reports that the drivers of the two other vehicles just happened to be an ex-husband and his ex-wife from Holdingford.

The sheriff's office says slippery conditions may have contributed to the crashes.

Elsewhere in Minnesota, a 66-year-old Lakeville woman died in Prior Lake on Tuesday evening. The State Patrol said she lost control of her truck and ran head-on into an SUV.

Also Tuesday night, 22-year-old Carrie A. Lorman of Rogers died after she swerved to avoid a stalled car on Interstate 94 in Maple Grove and ended upside down in a creek.
