Suspected Drunk Driver Crashes into Horse-drawn Buggy; Mother, Father, and Baby Hurt

TODD COUNTY, MINN. - A husband, wife and a three-month old baby are all recovering after the buggy they were traveling in was hit from behind in Todd County, just after 9 p.m. Monday.

The Todd County Sheriff's Department received a call of a vehicle and horse/buggy accident that happened on County Rd. 24 just E. of the Ottertail County line in Bertha TWP.

According to authorities, James Miller of Deer Creek, was heading westbound on County Rd. 24 in his 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee when he rear-ended the buggy.

All three passengers in the buggy were injured and transported by ambulance to the Tri-County Hospital.

The buggy was a total loss and the Jeep received moderate damage to its front-end.

Miller was not hurt in the accident.

Authorities do believe alcohol was a factor in this crash and the incident is still under investigation through the Todd County Sheriff's Department.

Bertha Police, Ambulance, Fire and Rescue and the Tri-County Ambulance all assisted at the scene.
