Athlete of the Week 2-2-10: Micaela Erickson
"I'm a part of the National Honor society, and Strengthening the Family we go and talk to younger kids. I'm Student Council Vice President. I'm involved in our church youth group and Agape singers is a Christian type singing group on Wednesdays. I've just been active in our community" senior captain Micaela Erickson says. On top of all those activities, she's a dominant basketball player. Erickson has been playing varsity for the Eagles since she was an eighth grader. Now in her senior year she has put together some impressive statistics. She has school records in: single game scoring, single season scoring, all time scoring, single game rebounding, and all time rebounding to name a few. "She's really an all around basketball player that has taken the younger players under her wings and helped us with our success this season" Eagles Head Coach Ryan Giles explains. Because of Micaela's excellence and dedication on and off the court she has earned a full ride scholarship to Dakota Wesleyan University in South Dakota. Written for the web by Tony Seeman
