DFL and GOP Caucus Throughout State

Alexandria, Minn - Democracy was truly in action Tuesday as the DFL and GOP held caucuses across the state for the 2010 governor's race.

Those in attendance had an opportunity to voice their support for specific candidates and push specific policies they want their respective party to enact.

"It's an opportunity for people to have a voice and become informed," DFL Caucus goer Jay Kulp said.

Delegates were also selected for each party's conventions.

But the big event was the paper ballot for preference of gubernatorial candidates.

Although the results do not determine who gets either party's endorsement, they can create momentum for candidates who do well and stall the campaigns of those who do not.

When last checked R.T. Rybak was leading the DFL poll and Marty Seifert was leading the GOP poll.
