Wanted Man Leads Police on Snowmobile Chase Through Aitkin County
Aitkin County Sheriff's Office said Joshua Barron was wanted in connection with a Northfield shooting that occurred in February. According to authorities Barron was fleeing from police when he crashed into trees and brush along the ditch of Highway 169, and then was arrested. Aitkin County deputies said Barron was staying at a rural Aitkin residence. When Aitkin County officers arrived on scene at 2 a.m., they spotted Barron fleeing from the scene on a snowmobile. The twenty-minute chase led police on snowmobile trails, and across a lake in Aiken County. Shanessa Ceplecha, 27, and Randall Wang, 34, both of rural Aitkin, who were both at the residence from which Barron fled, were arrested on 5th Degree Controlled Substance charges. All remain in the Aitkin County jail with formal charges pending. The investigation is still underway. Written by Ann Osterberg
