The Sauk Centre Mainstreeters are Flawless
So far the Mainstreeters have lived up to those expectations and then some sitting at 19-0 on the year. Sauk Centre has been a force for the past few seasons but have ran into trouble when coming against the always dangerous New London-Spicer Wildcats who are second in class 2A. This year however Sauk Centre got over the hump narrowly beating New London-Spicer to solidify their spot at number one. "What makes us a solid program is the work that we all put in during the off season" senior captain Megan Rieland says. A mixture of hard work and talent is a deadly combination, and Sauk Centre drips with both. Sophomore all star Kali Peschel is in her third year on varsity, has already broken the 1,000 point mark, is chasing down the Sauk Rapids all time scoring record, and still has over two seasons left. "She started as an eighth grader, just recently scored her 1,000th career point, just a real talent" coach Bergman says. Next game for the Mainstreeters is a battle against a struggling Foley team. But Sauk Centre says they're taking their season one game at a time and not looking past anyone. Written for the web by Tony Seeman
