Family of Eleven Displaced After Fire Destroys Home

HANLEY FALLS, Minn - A family of 11 is homeless after a fire raged through their Hanley Falls home early Thursday morning.

Fire departments from Hanley Falls, Clarkfield, Wood Lake and Cottonwood arrived at the home of Chai Vue and Shoua Kong to find it engulfed in flames.

Eight of the family members were children ranging from 11 months to 14 years old.

No one was injured but according to the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Department the home was a total loss and was also uninsured.

The Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Department and Hanley Falls Fire Department are investigating the cause of the fire.

The American Red Cross is assisting the family with their immediate needs and calling on the public to send donations to 301 2nd Street S, Marshall, MN, 56258.
