A Local School Raises Money For a Good Cause

ALEXANDRIA, Minn. - Students at Discovery Middle School in Alexandria raised money for the victims of Haiti Friday.

They spent one week collecting money throughout the school. Each classroom did so by donating coins into a jar.

"I am so happy because they need as much help as they can get. I am really proud of the school for fundraising the money," Grace Griffen, a ninth grader from Discovery Middle School said.

The school raised close to 3,000 dollars in coins and dollar bills.

All the proceeds go to the Red Cross to benefit the Haitian Disaster Relief efforts.
