Sen. Klobuchar Gets Hands Dirty for Flood Preparations
According to the National Weather Service, there is an 18 percent chance that Moorhead will have major flooding from the Red River of the North. "The advantage this time is we have more preparation time. Last year it was kind of the perfect storm and we had only a week or so," Sen. Amy Klobuchar said. This time Sen. Klobuchar says Moorhead is more prepared. "There's some grids that are on the streets, water pumps and people are getting their houses ready right now," Sen. Klobuchar said. Even with the extra preparations Sen. Klobuchar has reached out to FEMA for help. "We just want to make sure FEMA realizes Moorhead is here too. Sometimes you just hear about Fargo, but we might need some extra help here," she said.
