Emily Deem

Emily is the five and six o’clock anchor as well as a reporter for KSAX Eyewitness News.  Recently graduating from Saint Cloud State University in May of 2009, Emily is excited to be back here at KSAX.  She had the opportunity of interning at KSAX and is thrilled to be back.  Emily grew up in Saint Cloud Minnesota with her very large family which includes her mom, dad, three sisters and a dog.  She attended college at Saint Cloud State University majoring in Broadcast Journalism.  In her four years at SCSU, Emily was on the SCSU Dance team her freshman and sophomore year.  Later in sophomore year she was heavily involved with the schools television station, UTVS channel 21.  At UTVS Emily was News Director of the station but also anchored, produced newscasts and even had some behind the scenes work.  Emily always knew journalism was her passion.  Everyday she is thankful to wake up and be able to work in the field she has so much excitement for. 

When she’s not at work Emily enjoys: Spending time with family and friends, there is nothing more important than that!  I am also a Lifetime movie fanatic, at home I sit on my couch turn on Lifetime and I can be there for hours… ask my mom.

Favorite Meal: First, breakfast would have to be my favorite meal of the day.  I love going out to eat and try to order something different every time.  But probably Italian, Mexican, Chinese, ok who am I kidding I love every meal!

Favorite Movies: Lifetime Movies, the plot thickens with each one.

Favorite Books:  I am trying to finish Twilight.

Interesting Fact: I just became an Aunt of a handsome nephew.  Yes, finally a boy in the Deem Family.  New nickname, Auntie Em, love it.

Dream Job: Walking dogs for a living, how wonderful.
