History
 

-         KSAX-TV Alexandria, KRWF-TV Redwood Falls debuted September 15, 1987 as a satellite station of KSTP-TV, Minneapolis/St. Paul.  KSAX/KRWF-TV is an ABC Affiliated station owned by Hubbard Broadcasting, Inc.  We currently have a staff of 23 full and part-time employees and serve 30 counties in the western half of the State of Minnesota.

-         KSAX/KRWF-TV continues to serve communities through involvement that includes sponsorship of local county fairs, academic scholarships, community concerts, community celebrations and anniversaries, parades, charity golf tournaments, fishing tournaments, Governor's Fishing Opener, the Crystal Apple Awards honoring teachers, and we are an active member in many of the chambers of commerce throughout our coverage area.

-         1987  - First local news broadcast

-         1996 - KSAX/KRWF-TV was honored by the Minnesota Broadcaster's Association as Minnesota Television Station of the Year .

-         1996 - KSAX was awarded the Media Best Award for Non Metro Promotion of our weather watchers campaign.

-         1997 -  We were also awarded a Media Best Award in 1997 for our hard news coverage in greater Minnesota.

-         2000 - First local meteorologist.

-         2002 - Best Weekend Cooperation with the Associated Press.

-         2003 - Best Non-Metro News Story with the Associated Press.

-         2003 - Awarded Partner in Education award by the Alexandria Chamber and District 206 schools for Kids Voting program.

-         2004 - Received the MN Broadcasters Media Best Award for Bringing Community Service Home in Non-Metro TV. 

-         2004 - First half hour show highlighting high school prep sports.
