KSAX Exclusive: Brock Lesnar's Friend and Chiropractor Talks about Fighter's Serious Illness

ALEXANDRIA, MINN. - UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar will likely have surgery for a bacterial infection in his intestinal track, according to close friend and chiropractor Dr. Larry Novotny Monday.
"Brock has an intestinal problem that will require some sort of action. More likely than not that action will be surgery," said the Novotny.
While Novotny would not reveal the Lesnar's specific diagnosis, he did say that Lesnar underwent a CAT scan in a North Dakota hospital today, which aided the doctors in "finding out the progress of the healing."
Novotny, who has been in constant contact with Lesnar, the fighter was initially diagnosed with mononucleosis and was believed to have H1N1.
"His symptoms became severe while in Canada, which because of their health care system made it difficult to manage. And at this point it's a possibility that it could jeopardize his career," said Novotny.
Novotny added that Lesnar plans on returning to Alexandria as soon as possible to be with family while healing and awaiting doctor's recommendations.
Novotny also said that Lesnar's camp is expected to release a statement about the fighter's condition sometime soon.
