The 82-year-old Staples man disappeared in July and December 24th, Christams Eve, will mark 5 months since Achermann was last seen. There have been no recent strong leads in the case. "We thought with hunters out this season, that would help us with any clues," Cass County Sheriff Randy Fisher said. "It was a great opportunity to learn more but nothing new came up." Friends and family of Achermann have been searching tirelessy and are truly saddened by the situation but mostly that there are still no clues or leads on where he could be. "Hopefully getting this out during the Holiday season will make people want to call in and help," Fisher said. "The cold weather has slowed down search efforts but no one will give up." The community of Staples is looking for any information that may give them a break or an idea on where they should search next. Anyone wanting to help fund the search for Achermann can donate money towards the reward fund. Contributions may be sent to the Achermann Reward Fund at Unity Bank, P.O. Box 56, Staples, MN,56479. "This reward will be offered until March 1st. Hopefully, we can get some answers," Fisher said. The Cass County Sheriff's Department is urging anyone with information to contact them at (218) 547-1424. Written for the web by Emily Deem.
