Compass Care Helps Students Celebrate Wintery Days
Students at Woodland Elementary School took part in celebrating the cold winter day. When it comes to school closings, Woodland's special program, "Compass School Age Care," gives parents an extra hand by taking kids in for the day. The program expected 90 kids on Monday but because of icy road conditions, only 24 children arrived. "I felt happy, to go today. I put on my coat well before it was time to go!" Clara Applegate, a student at Woodland Elementary School said. To sign up, your child has to be enrolled in a program called "Community Education." The Compass School Age Care is available on snow days only from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. Written by Ann Osterberg
