Benefit for Four-Year-Old Pillager Girl Battling Leukemia
Pillager, Minn. (KSAX) - A four-year-old Pillager girl battling leukemia is getting some help from relatives and friends.
Eva Mudgett was diagnosed with kidney disease last year and in December she was diagnosed with leukemia.
"This can't be. This cannot be. It must be a mistake. They could be wrong, they could be wrong, but deep down I knew, I knew it was," Eva’s mother, Jessica Mudgett said.
Eva’s Parent’s Steve and Jessica began making bi-weekly trips to the University of Minnesota for chemo treatments and tests. In February, family and friends are having a benefit for Eva to help with costs.
"We’re just so grateful for our families for coming together and helping us through this time,” Jessica said, “Because it is very hard and without our families I don't know where we would be."
The benefit is February 4th at the Pillager Community Center.
