It is hard to find a program or activity that Pauline Segaar is not involved in. Along with helping the Girl Scouts of America, she has also spent the last 14 years helping with the Boy Scouts of America. This includes volunteering her time and gifts teaching no less than four merit badge classes in a successful effort to bring four young men to the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in Boy Scouts of America.
Also very active in her church, Pauline has been teaching Sunday school, she has served on the Worship Committee, as a Youth Leader, and has facilitated and helped with Vacation Bible School and Christmas programs.
Pauline was the assistant Speech coach for five years at BBE where she earned the respect of her students and staff. Last year, she was asked to take over as head coach and took six of her students to the state competition.
Pauline was also an active member of the Brooten Jaycee Women, the Bonanza Valley Production Company (a local theatre group), and a perennial choice to facilitate the style show at Bonanza Valley Days, an annual community celebration
Perhaps one of the greatest challenges and achievements stem from Pauline’s diagnosis of stage 4-high grade thymus cancer. Pauline has a remarkable story to tell and felt led to share her experiences. She put together a power point presentation and has since spoken to several groups sharing her journey and how her faith and love have carried her through. She is very active in fundraising for the American Cancer Society and was a featured speaker at the Relay for Life in Cold Spring as part of her effort to support the fight to cure cancer.
